Daniel and I got married at the City Hall, the ceremony is around  1 minute and 40 seconds.  The ceremony takes place in the “Ovalen” which can host maximum 20 guests. As we had more than 20 guests, we have asked the person to marry us to move the ceremony in the City Hall yard. We got lucky and she married us in front of all our guests on the most beautiful weather one can get in Stockholm.

After a short stop at  Djurgården for a quick snack and a drink, we all boarded for a cruise along the Swedish archipelago with Åland as destination. The cruise was in total 23 hours long and I think all our guests enjoyed seeing for the first time or seeing again the beautiful landscape.

Razvan wrote about our wedding here .

Pic1Pic2

One year after we got engaged, mentioned here , Daniel and I got married.   It was the happiest day of my life and I have a feeling there are more days like this to come. I love you more than anything, Daniel, like a crazy woman :) .

Thanks to our photographer, Johan, we will be able to remember this moments at their best through his pictures.

Some of the pictures taken by Johan Lygrell http://johanlygrell.com/?p=559 , we have yet more to come, can’t wait to see all of them.

Taking a swim

Can’t sleep, so here are some pictures from last weekend.

20 degrees in the water, not the ideal temperature for me, but if you go out of the water after you first got in and then go in again, it feels warmer :) .

So cool! :)

Bachelor party

Yesterday came Daniel’s turn for the bachelor party. He was kidnapped from home in the morning by nine of his friends, my task was to prepare a bag for him the day before containing specific itmes and to keep the secret of course.

His friends blindfolded him and took him to a gym were after a quick warm up he had to fight a two times Sweden’s boxing champion.

Then they took him to play paintball, his friends were wearing camouflage gear while Daniel had to wear a pink dress so he became a walking target :) .

After that it got better, as they took him to a SPA and later they went to one of his friends’ house for a barbeque.

Daniel is lucky to have nice friends and they planned a nice party for him, the usual bachelor party here are a traumatic experience :) .

For now just one picture, I will come back later with more pics  as soon as i get them.

Later edit:

Link to all the pictures.

Uppsala

Today is midsommer in Sweden, the weather man said it will be bad weather in Stockholm so Daniel and I decided to go visit Uppsala.

Uppsala because this little town hosts one of the world’s top 100 universities (Uppsala University). I wanted for a long time to walk around in the university campus, walk the same paths as some of the worlds most smart men and women that studied there.

The university has now about 20.000 students, about 2.000 doctoral students and a teaching staff of 4.000.

The faculties it hosts are: Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Social Sciences, the Faculty of Languages,  Faculty of  Theology, Faculty of Law. Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Science and Technology, Faculty of Educational Sciences.

Some info that I know my mum will appreciate :) , Jöns Jakob Berzelius received his doctorate in medicine in Uppsala in 1804.

All the pictures here.

Amazing Romania :)

Bachelorette party

Saturday I had my Bachelorette party http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bachelorette_Party.
I was expecting a quiet evening when I left home with Daniel to go to the movies. There were clues all the way, but I did not pick up on them. For instance, when we left home, all though I had my keys, Daniel insisted on taking his keys also. On the way to the cinema he got an sms, he rarely answers SMSs right away, but this time he said it’s Peter and he needs to answer. It was actually an SMS from Silvia telling him they arrived at the meeting point.
When we arrived at the cinema, out of nowhere Silvia shows up. “Hi, what are you doing here?”. My first thought was, damn, why didn’t I think to invite her also to see the movie with us? But then Anca shows up and also Kristin. It was too much to be a coincidence. Not to mention I never met Kristin wihout her baby and without Alex.
Then Daniel tells me we will not see any movie, that he will go home and leave me with the girls and to call him to come and pick me up later. Do you remember how you felt in first grade when your mother takes you to school in your first day and tells you “mummy will go home now, and you have to stay here”? That is exactly how I felt.
I was happy that the girls surprised me and that I will spend some time with them, but sad that I will not spend the evening with my Daniel.
So I got a little bit of public embarrassment at the cinema which was FULL of people. Silvia put a white scarv on my head to make me look like a bride, everybody around us was looking at me and I noticed one old lady laughing her head off.
Then we went to a very nice restaurant where we had a reservation and I had to go through 60 questions, some of them very personal, that Daniel answered before. At the end Silvia compared the answers of course. Last evening Daniel and I went throught the questions again and had a lot of fun on the answers we gave, we will for sure save the papers and laugh again in some years.
The dinner was great and the plan was to go to a club after dinner but that felt science-fiction to me, some of you know why :)
Thanks a lot Silvia, Anca and Kristin :)

Does anybody know what is the name of this tree? If it grows in Sweden it must grow in Romania also, to be more specific, at Mihaiesti, I want to plant it in my mums garden.
